Merced County Mental Health Department

Merced, California

A warm, welcoming place

The Merced County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BH&RS)  Department relocated the majority of its programs and staff to this newly renovated facility, the former Merced County Hospital, which had been vacant for many years. BH&RS now resides in the two and three story portions of the facility, providing 95,000sf of Consumer Programs, a Wellness Center, Administrative Services, Conferencing Center, and Crisis Stabilization Residential services. A primary goal of the Project was to change the image of the sterile hospital environment to a bright, warm and welcoming place for consumers and staff. The consolidation of programs and staff to this new location will save the County $320,000 a year in rent.
